1. The service
ScrubExif (https://scrubexif.com) provides free, browser-based tools for viewing and removing metadata from image files. The tools run locally on your device; we never receive or store your files.
2. Your files and rights
You keep every right to the images you process. We claim no license over them — since we never receive them, we couldn't use them if we wanted to. You are solely responsible for having the rights to process and share the files you choose to process.
3. Acceptable use
Use the service lawfully. In particular, don't use it to:
- strip rights-management or attribution metadata in order to infringe others' copyright;
- evade evidence rules, platform integrity systems, or the law of your jurisdiction;
- attack, overload or reverse the service through automated abuse.
Metadata removal is a legitimate privacy practice; using it to deceive people to their legal detriment is not.
4. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. While the removal process is designed to be lossless, always keep your originals; you alone are responsible for verifying output files meet your needs before relying on or distributing them.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScrubExif and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. If anything in these terms is unenforceable in your jurisdiction, the remainder still applies.
